So we went to a place last week, I was 15 weeks and 5 days. For the longest time I thought it was for sure a boy. I have kind of been concentrating on boy names because I think they're more tough to come up with one that we both like and of course we could only agree on one but that's all we needed. Then about two weeks before the appointment, I had a feeling it was a girl.
The place that we went to is a little boutique that sells a couple of baby things but primarily just does gender ultrasounds. The room was huge and we watched the ultrasound on a big screen from a projector, it was really cool. I am always in complete awe whenever we do an ultrasound. To think that a little human is growing inside of me and in a few months it's going to be on the outside and be my baby. It's just insane!
So of course it's always so much fun seeing what your baby is up to and almost every time, mine has the hiccups or it's just jumping around. This time it was playing with the umbilical cord between its legs. She had to wait a few minutes to see if it would move positions so we could get the money shot. Finally baby did, and IT'S A GIRL! We're going to have a little baby girl! A DAUGHTER!
Totally unexpected but we're so so excited!!! My side of the family was kind of counting on me to have a boy since my brother has 3 girls and my sister has a girl, we all thought I was going to be the first with the boy but I guess the men in our family need girls! She's already spoiled to death and when we told my mother in law she said 'let the shopping begin!' My mom started shopping for my kids before I was married. No joke! We have only bought two things for baby. I don't even know where to begin. I just know we have so much stuff to get and so much cleaning and organizing to do but we're so blessed and so so excited!!!
The belly is popping out more every day. Almost every morning I forget that I'm pregnant. I don't know how I could tho, the constant peeing all day and night should remind me. The belly is there but right after I eat, it's really there! I'm at a point where I have to unbutton my pants and where a belly band. I can still wear my regular shirts.
Luka is definitely pumped to have a little sister. She's going to be a great big sis (I hope!) Since we live so close to the beach, you would think we're there all the time, not the case. We really love it but Sam is pretty tired at the end of the day and it's not warm enough out yet to enjoy that cold water. But it's not too cold for Luka to take a dip! The dog beach is a little further south so we don't go as often but we love it every time we do go! She loves the sand and digs like crazy and just plays all over. It's the cutest thing. She likes the water somewhat but we usually force her in a few times.
