Baby Shower

This past weekend my sister and mother in law threw me a baby shower in St. George and it was beyond amazing! It was so great to see family and friends that I don't get to see often and to feel the love for my baby that all these people haven't even met yet. It's such a beautiful thing!

We were beyond spoiled at the shower and way too much stuff but it helps so much. We're getting a lot of hand me downs but I really don't care, it's all in great shape and it works! We have a few things left to get so we're getting there. Right now it looks like a baby shower threw up in my living room! I have so much to do.

One of the best things about this weekend was one of my best friends from Minnesota surprised me for my baby shower. The last time I saw her she was almost 7 months pregnant and two years later, here I am 7 months pregnant! So crazy. I got to meet her little girl for the first time and she's just the cutest, sweetest thing! She's actually two weeks younger than my sisters girl Natalie and they're both named Natalie. The funniest thing was watching them play together, so so cute!

I didn't do the best at taking pictures this weekend, I'm trying to get better at that!

The Natalies! My sister and brother in law are obsessed with Star Wars so they were calling them N1D1 and N2D2. They're so cute!

The theme was Forest Animals. I'm trying to work them into the nursery but still keep it simple.

My sister made cupcakes of course and the cutest diaper cake!

My brother in law made the hedgehog watermelon haha

Natalie, my mom, and Lindsay, my sister

I did not want to open gifts in front of everyone but I was kind of forced. I love massive sinking into that chair.

Cutest topper!

My girl Jess! She's the best

And here we are, 28 weeks! 3rd Trimester

I'm feeling pretty good! Pretty tired and the drive home was a little rough. I was exhausted when I finally made it home. On top of it, I have a head cold. It's making my days more exhausting but Sam is starting to help me a little more and I think I'll need to stop my cupcake business soon. It's getting a little too stressful. Oh and I found my first stretch marks. On the boobies. It's great. I have my glucose test tomorrow. I've heard its pretty terrible but I'll live. It's almost September and I'm getting more nervous and excited! I'm ready for her to be out of my body and I just want to meet this little dancing queen! She's dancing on my bladder all the time! Ready for that to be done!

Things Sam says...

"I thought you would be bigger by now. Not like your belly but the rest of your body."
Thanks babe.

"Why would we change the baby on the couch or the bed?"
"Where would we change the baby Sam?"
"The bathroom!"
Oh duh! Why didn't I think of that?!

I sent Sam a picture and said 'Guess where I am!'
"I don't know a restaurant or something?!"
I was at a car wash, I'm not always eating!

He reminded me again that he's surprised I'm not bigger. I guess I have room to eat more!
(Just kidding I don't! I'm definitely feeling a difference.)

"You're poop duty!"
Sam has never changed a diaper. This is seriously going to be so interesting.

"Getting induced is probably the way to go huh?!"
Sam has no idea what that means!

"Why can't you just feed her as we're driving?"
He's referring to her being out of her car seat while the car is moving. I had to tell him, Samuel that does not ever happen okay?!

"In her carseat in the car?! Yeah right I'll probably be holding her the whole time!"
Once again, when the car is moving she is in her carseat!

Sam has only ever held one newborn in his life and that was for like 5 minutes. It was my niece Natalie at the hospital and that was the only time he has ever been to the hospital to see a baby. It's so crazy to think about but I kind of love that his real first time will be with our girl.

My very own Mike Trout!

The Unknown

Ever since I can remember, I have always said I was going to adopt kids. Mostly because I didn't want to physically have the babies and secondly, because there are so many children in the world that have so little and grow up with no parents and I've always wanted to give that to them. Sam is kind of anti adopting but I think I could talk him into doing it at least once. I know its not all fairy tale and would be tough on every one in the family but I know it could be good too.

With that being said, no one tells you about all the little, crazy details about your body during pregnancy. Like no one warned me. They just always say your body will be changing so much and you'll never be the same. But like what are you talking about? Mostly I was assuming that they were talking about after you have the baby but it's going on now. If you want more details and want to be warned, I'll tell you! Let's just say our toilet has seen better days!

I am officially needing to wear maternity clothes or Sam's clothes all the time! It's a love hate relationship. I love my belly but it's so hard to dress the bump! So every day it's Sam's shirt and running shorts. I have maternity clothes but it's so expensive for clothes that I'll wear for just 3 months! And don't get me started on bras! WOAH!

I am driving to St. George by myself this week and I'm a little nervous. Mostly because I have a hard time sitting for a while and I'm having more body aches and Braxton Hicks started! Those scared me! They don't really hurt, they're more uncomfortable and like confusing. It's just crazy how close we're getting! Can't wait to spoil this girl this week with family and friends!

I made Sam join me in my mirror pic. My belly looks massive! 27 weeks to the day!

Luka is dividing her love between Sam and I more but she put her head on Sam and just laid there with him and closed her eyes! We were dying! She's such a snuggler when she's calm.

A little review...

I have been really bad at documenting lately!

On the 3rd of July, they do fireworks on our side of town right up the street from us and then they do fireworks on base on the 4th of July. Of course, Sam had duty on the 3rd so it was just me and Luka at home and it was her first 4th. I brought her out back when the fireworks started and she was just fine at first, I thought she would be okay. She was whimpering and just staring at them but seemed okay. Nope I was wrong.

She tried hiding in the bathroom behind the toilet, ran upstairs into the kitchen, stood in the stairway, then finally hid behind our door. It was the saddest thing ever! I hated it. Then of course the next time we could still hear them and she freaked. So now, any loud boom she kind of starts to panic. Mind you, we live by a military base and we can hear bombs going off and of course she freaks out now from them.

Scared Lu in the kitchen.

And in the stairwell. Saddest day ever!

This was on the 4th of July. Wearing the same shirt as last year, stretching every thing out!
22 weeks. How do girls take decent looking mirror pics? Rough!
We're trying to make it a tradition of going to the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar for the 4th every year. This year was the second annual. It's a pretty nice fair and best part, it's smoke free! We go early to beat the crowds and spend too much money on food and watched Monster Trucks and Vintage Motocross. What's more American?! Sam loved it!

Sam's cousin thinks he looks like Mike Trout! So now I just see Mike Trout when I look at him.

My parents came up for the Angels vs Red Sox game. My poor parents, every time they come it rains! It never rains here but it shows up when they do. The baseball game was actually 10x more fun in the rain, I thought! We still had a lot of fun in the rain the whole weekend. My parents bought us a car seat, stroller, and two bases for our cars! They spoil us too much but I'm so so grateful for them! Our stroller and car sear are so cute, I can't wait for our little girl to be in there!

My sister came down for four days just her and her little girl. Natalie is one little crazy HAM! She's pretty funny!

Luka has me kind of nervous to have our baby. She's super curious and she's only seen a little baby once at the dog park and just tried licking it the whole time. She did good with Natalie but she still doesn't realize how big she is. But she loves her visitors!

Taking a break outside Wal Mart! haha

I am so happy that it's August! I'm going to St. George next week for my baby shower and I can't wait! We're already getting some stuff from our registry and I'm beyond excited! I am hoping a little that people get us stuff from our registry and not clothes because we have so much clothes. I'm dead serious we won't have to buy her clothes until shes like two years old. It's crazy! But obviously I would still love the new clothes because it's ridiculously cute! Her nursery is coming along! We have a crib, dresser and glider! I'm working on the little details but it's all just adorable!
